UTILITIES
WATER DIVISION
The Dickison water main realignment project has successfully passed both the pressure and bacteriological testing. With the main now back in service, the temporary bypass will be removed and final site cleanup is underway to close out the project.
At Sycamore Villas on Homestead Parkway, the 12-inch water main project is progressing, with water filling scheduled for this week followed by pressure testing to confirm system integrity.
While conducting meter readings, Water Operator Robert Eberle identified two water service line leaks. Water Operators Kris Stephens and Andrew Teague promptly responded, located the leaks, and installed repair clamps to stop the water loss.
In support of improved field operations, Utilities Analyst Kristen Gressly is preparing iPads for Water Division staff. These devices will provide operators with access to GIS mapping, meter reading software, service order applications, and other tools necessary to efficiently complete their tasks in the field.
WASTEWATER DIVISION
During the night of June 26, 2025, issues began with alarm callouts to the Main Street Lift Station. Our on-call operator, Bryce Menge, responded to eight callouts over the weekend, primarily Saturday night through Sunday. Maintenance/Operator Russ Cron and Wastewater Division Manager Chet Teague assisted Saturday night, while Arizona Public Service (APS) monitored the power supply. On Monday, APS confirmed the station was receiving sufficient clean power. Rottweiler Controls connected to the Programable Logic Controller and diagnosed a critical fault on pump 2, which was getting intermittent faults. They also discovered something was still powering Verbal Frequency Drive 2 despite the breaker being off. Manley Electric identified and replaced a bad float, installed a missing fuse, and corrected a loose relay switch and wiring. A relay was added so high-high alarms also register as low-low alarms on the Sensaphone and operator interface terminal. All three pumps were tested and confirmed operational.
On Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, AGM returned to reboot the generator, completing the repairs.
Elsewhere, the camera van was dispatched to 3rd St to locate a customer service tap, where it was discovered that a gas line appears to have been installed through the main sewer line. Wastewater staff will be contacting Unisource Gas staff to have the gas main removed from our within our sewer main.
Routine maintenance included dispatching the Vac Truck to the Holloman Street area, replacing the broken rain gauge at the plant, completing a valve replacement on the drying bed drain line, and performing repairs to the Belt Filter Press belt. Work also continued on the blower system: oil and filters were changed on blowers 1 & 3, new blower outlet piping was connected through the exterior wall of the blower building and painted for UV protection, and ductwork in the old blower room was balanced. Additional tasks included moving a fitting at the new Sports Complex Irrigation Pump Building site, reattaching a ground cable in the air compressor room that had been detached during the force main project, and servicing the dump truck. Lastly, the pricing at the hauler station was updated from $0.14 to $0.16 per gallon.
STORMWATER DIVISION
Culvert cleanout has been completed with over 150-man hours by Earth Resources Corporation. At the final session of the Local First Green Bootcamp, Stormwater Specialist Patty Mancini, presented the Town of Camp Verde’s Water Conservation Plan. She will pursue grant funding to implement recommendations from the EcoBlue audit, which identified potential water savings of up to 600,000 gallons per year ~ enough to fill 9,400 standard tubs across all government buildings. Lastly, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has granted an extension for the Town’s Characterization Study due to a lack of qualifying rain events. Patty is hopeful the storm system forecasted for later this week will provide sufficient rainfall to collect the required samples.

Additionally, staff worked closely with CVMO to address vandalism incidents reported over the weekend at both the Skate Park and Butler Park.
