Posted April 20, 2025

There is still space available to volunteer for an Earth Day fishing line cleanup project at Woods Canyon Lake, Tuesday, April 22, 9-11 a.m.

Join the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) in cooperation with APS and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest for this Earth Day event. Volunteers will be walking around the beach area and hiking along the trail picking up trash and fishing line. Regular cleanups of improperly disposed fishing line can prevent ingestion or entanglement by bald eagles, ospreys, waterfall or some mammals.

To preregister or find out more information, please visit https://volunteer.azgfd.gov/need/detail/?need_id=1072226 and select “Respond” on the right side of the page. Follow the prompts to “Login” (or “Sign Up” to create a free volunteer account).
